Mothers Are Nice
Rianne was asked to speak today about mothers during the Sacrament. Lala gave her questions to help her with what to say.
Good morning. I am Rianne Sorenson. I am 7 years old. Today I am going to talk about mothers. Mothers are nice and kind. They cook, they help with our projects, and they help us feel better. I think God gave us mothers so they could help God take care of his children and teach them about Jesus, Heavenly Father, prayer, the Ten Commandments, and work.
We show our mothers that we love them when we give them gifts, make surprises for them, being nice and being loving to our family and our moms. I love going out with my mom and getting treats with her. I also like making gifts and cards with her for other people. My mom taught me how to sew, cook, build and do Family Home Evenings. I learned from our family home evenings that Jesus is a shepherd because He will look for us if we lost our faith in him like the one sheep that was lost. I also learned that Jesus is a healer because he can heal us. He is the creator because he created our earth.
I think the hardest thing about being a mother is dealing with kids that are fighting and having a messy house. Moms are happy when we listen and when we clean up. Moms are sad when we don’t listen and don’t clean up.
I want to be a mother someday because I want to know how it feels to be a grown up and to take care of somebody and to teach them about the scriptures. I can prepare now to be a mother by going to the Temple and playing being a mother. I can read the scriptures too.
I feel great that my family can be together forever and be pleasant with each other. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that we can be a family together forever. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Rianne delivered her talk clearly and confidently. I told her to speak slowly when we practiced yesterday and she did a great job. Many came to me and her to say that she did a great job. I and Dad are so proud of you dear Rianne!
