Seek and Ye Shall Find

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” - Matthew 7:7

There is real power in asking, seeking, and knocking. These are not passive actions; they require effort, intent, and faith. When work is paired with faith, it can produce outcomes beyond our own capacity. The Lord invites us to ask, seek, and knock so that we may receive what matters most—treasures far greater than anything the world can offer. Through asking, we receive answers to prayer; through seeking, clarity to our questions; and through knocking, peace, light, hope, confidence, knowledge, and strength to act. The Lord has already prepared all that we need to succeed in our spiritual journey with Him.

As we seek with real intent, He gives more than knowledge gained through study. He blesses us with faith and hope to endure, peace and joy that give life meaning, and light to guide us forward—even when the path ahead is uncertain.

I believe that my testimony and discipleship, though at times unsteady, were strengthened through my study of the Book of Mormon in my youth. Through it, I felt Christ’s love and learned that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father. This knowledge has guided my decisions and helped me choose what is right and good, even when doing so was difficult. The blessings I enjoy now—family, opportunities for church service, financial stability, and much more—have come through the goodness of God and my efforts to align my choices with His will.

I have seen His hand in my life repeatedly, more times than I can count. I know that He is real, that He lives, and that He cares about every aspect of my life—personally, professionally, and spiritually—because He is my Father. I know that as we read and share the word of God, especially the Book of Mormon, daily, we will more clearly see His hand working for us and within us. We will feel His love more fully, be changed by it, and gain the power to become who He intends us to be while on this earth—and to invite others to receive that same power.
